CIPPON IS - The regulatory body for all printing and printing related activities in Nigeria and also an institute for educational development and advancement
WHAT IS A REGULATORY BODY
A regulatory body is a public organisation or government agency that is set up to exercise a regulatory function over some area of human activities.
They are appointed by a legislative act. Regulations are rules made by a government or other authority in order to control the way people act or behave.
Act 24 of 2007 contains the laws that governed the business of printing and related matters in Nigeria. A Regulatory body has two roles;
i. Implement laws enacted by the legislator
ii. Enforces law enacted by the legislator.
CIPPON was enacted by government to IMPLEMENT and ENFORCE ACT 24 OF 2007.
Therefore the main functions of CIPPON are; REGULATION, CONTROLLING, MANAGING and ADMINISTRATION of Printers and related purposes.
